the Roman history of the area and is located behind the guest house
while maritime heritage is celebrated at Souter Lighthouse. South Shields
Museum and Art Gallery is also a must to vsit during your stay.

The area hosts the free Cookson Festival in June, July and August promising
free family fun and entertainment including live music, brass bands,
old time music hall and street theatre.
